One of the fat-soluble vitamins, vitamin D constitutes two major forms which are vitamin D2 or ergocalciferol and vitamin D3 or cholecalciferol. Vitamin D2 is synthesised by plants whilst vitamin D3 is synthesised by the body. Vitamin D is naturally present in a number of food sources and dietary supplements, and is also manufactured with the aid of sun exposure. It is produced within the body when ultraviolet-B or UVB rays from sunlight reaches the skin.

Vitamin D has many positive effects on the body. In diabetics, it reduces insulin resistance and improves the body’s use of insulin. It helps to regulate blood sugar and can greatly reduce the health risks associated with diabetes. Patients supplementing with vitamin D are having less leg pain, improved memory and focus, and noticing improvement in eye sight.

Vitamin D is essential to bone health and are included in most calcium supplement too. Sunlight provides Vitamin D too when it is absorb by our skin. But for those that stay in region that do not have a lot of sunlight, then regular intake of vitamin D is recommended.

Take a Vitamin D2 supplement along with your multi-vitamin if you are unable to get enough sunlight because of your location, or inability to find time for outdoor activity. About 800 IU’s is sufficient. Eat foods that are Vitamin D enriched such as cereals, butter or margarine, yogurt, soy milk, bread, cereal grain bars, and whole milk. Fatty fish such as sardines, cooked mackerel and salmon, also contain Vitamin D.

The human body needs both types of vitamins. The first type can be accumulated but the second type needs to be replenished every day. Take note that the vitamins you need to take daily are responsible for making you look younger and giving you more energy.

Vitamin A.B.C.D and E are very good for healthy skin and healthy skin is something that simply gives you the fresh and gorgeous look that you always wanted to have. So improve your diet, make it healthy by enriching it with vitamins also use skin care products that have these vitamins as their ingredients.

Vitamin E

There may now be ample evidence to justify prescribing this for PMS sufferers. For one thing, it is hard to get enough from your diet. For another, it may be good for the brain as well as the heart.  Many PMS symptoms have been shown to decrease with vitamin E, including headache, depression, breast tenderness, and weight gain due to bloating. 400 IU of natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) is a good dosage.

Vitamin K can be obtained by eating green vegetables, sprouts, milk etc. A part of body’s vitamin K can be obtained by bacteria which are living in intestine and it also play main role in blood clotting. Its deficiency may affect your new born child and also lack of Vitamin K can’t stop your blood if you are injured.

Make sure your supplements are, in fact, of the natural, whole-food variety. Synthetics suck! Avoid them. Get your vitamins at either your local health food store or online, from a company that deals exclusively with natural products.
